About April
Hey my name is April and I'm best known for my large vocabulary (hardly ever displayed, yet always there) and my intolerable geekiness. When I was a kid, mum figured out pretty quickly that I held not a single rhythmic bone in my body - singing, dancing...beyond my capabilities but, sitting in front of a computer screen working the wonders of technology, now that I was capable of.
I'm 16 years old and live in the only topical state of Australia - Queensland. I am currently Senior 2010 and hope to be a journalist when I'm older. I have a job at the local Library that is also a traineeship in Certificate II of Library and Cultural Services. Yeah - I know, the greatest job in the world and I'm doing it! Who wouldn't want to be surrounded by books of every shape and size, colour and detail, fiction and non-fiction?! I can see you all just drooling with jealousy as I speak.
I've always lived a happy life - no sad story to tell, no disease to cure. My parents have always been married and I've been brought up the way every good kid has - if you behave, you get treats and if you don't - you get a smack. I think the whole "smacking children is bad" ideology is a crock; I was disciplined when I was bad and look how I turned out - I'm not featuring on Australia's Most Wanted...yet. In fact, I think I've been brought up with a whole lot of respect for my parents (don't get me wrong - we have our fights and I can be pretty awful but hey, I'm only human) and for other people.
Although I cannot sing and although I cannot dance and although I cannot play an instrument to save myself, I do love music. Punk appeals to me the most with my favourite band being Senses Fail. It's always a great delight when you find a new band that gives you the goosebumps every time you listen to them. Music should be an art you can escape to no matter what the circumstance and thanks to advanced technology, I can listen to my music anywhere at anytime kudos of the 120GB iPod.
In a nutshell, I consider myself to be an introverted person that has an addiction to Sims and to chocolate.
About Gooberfied.org
Gooberfied was established in June 2008 and is currently my first ever domain. Gooberfied is a place for me to voice my opinions, have a daily rant and a way to connect with people. It is basically my online diary. Most often than not, my blog entries about random stuff but sometimes you will get the odd one that strikes your attention and compells you to comment. Its always good when those ones come around - my inner genius shows itself for nothing more than a few paragraphs.
So, Gooberfied. How the hell did you think of that name? Well, the root of the word is "goober" which comes from one of my favourite TV shows 'Spongebob Squarepants'. The way everyone was using the word - it was like it was gonna go out of fashion! And so, I thought up the idea of the world becoming Gooberfied and ta-da, Gooberfied.Org is born - run by a gooberfied girl in a gooberfied world! xD
