Yep, that’s right ladies and gents. I went out and bought myself some new pets - hermit crabs! =O!111!! They’re so cute and I’ve named them Alice and Oscar. (Don’t worry guys, I know for sure that one is a girl and one is a guy! )

I’ve been wanting some hermit crabs for ages but I haven’t been working lately so of course, low on funds. All up they were $145 AUD. Very expensive little critters! But it was definitely worthit. They are the cutest little rascals ever! Below is a pic of their tank and also one of Alice. I haven’t been able to get a picture of Oscar yet as he’s been underground tunneling all day! Very active little thing really;

So what do you guys think of my new pets? Do you have any hermit crabs of your own?

I hope you all had a great Christmas - I sure as hell did. I got so much cool stuff! I’m such a spoilt bitch, you know? I even got a Merry Christmas text from Amanda.

I’m rather sad that Christmas is over but hey - the fact it only comes once a year is the novelty of it, right? Exactly.

And even though Christmas is now over, I’m still busy as anything! Not that I mind, its just I barely get time to post on here and I know you all get very upset when I don’t do that hahaha.

What did you get for Christmas? Are you happy with what you got?

We all know that Christmas is just around the corner. And we also know that this year the festive mood is definitely not like it usually is. So, what have you actually prepared for Christmas? Do you have your decorations up? How about your tree?

The other night, Jordan and my family went out to this little house called “Elf World” where they set up millions of Christmas lights and had a little putt putt course set up. It was $1 (AUD) to play and all the money went to Guide Dogs. There used to be millions of houses that did this type of thing but this year, only one was advertised. And hardly anywhere are there any Christmas lights.

So, what have you done to prepare for Christmas?

Christmas Cheer to Disappear?

Something Mum said to me today struck me as rather sad. We were talking about how this year she hasn’t bothered to send Christmas cards out to anyone because she doesn’t feel very festive. It’s not just her that appears to be feeling this way…there are hardly any Christmas decorations out and quite a few Christmas Lights tours have been cancelled due to the lack of streets participating in Christmas Lights Competitions. I used to love going on Christmas Lights tours…the designs some people thought up were absolutely amazing. I once saw a house that was covered from head to toe in snow and every 15 minutes it would rehydrate itself so that it wouldn’t go all funny looking.

But this year, there is hardly anything. Is this simply because Christmas, after all these years, is getting boring? Are the generations of today getting bored and shitty with the whole present giving spiel? Or is it just my little area that seems to be having some problems getting into the Christmas Cheer?

People from the other side of the world, tell me - is Christmas Cheer disappearing where you are too?!

I tell you what - school is now over but I have been busier than ever before! So much has been going on I’ve barely had any time for anything. With Christmas coming up, work, Jordan’s birthday and our 6 month anniversary; life has been hectic and very expensive! It’s been ages since I’ve even thought about blogging. But now, here I am and I even managed to scrape together a layout. Personally, I think I could have done better but right now it’s all I really have time to do. Yeah, I know, massive cop out but just let me have it - pleasee?! I’ve spent over 500 dollars in 2 weeks, I think I deserve a break haha.

Anyway, I hope you guys are all having a safe summer/winter break and looking forward to Christmas. =]

...kicking up the dust, esky in the boot. Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs, it’s summer time and I am in, my singlet, shorts & thongs!

That is, ladies and gents, a snippet of the Australian jingle bells. Pretty damn shnazzy if I do say so! As you all know - Australia is the oddball of the world and we have a summer Christmas! And, it is brilliant! I hate the snow…a hot scorching day is the best kind of Christmas day. A barbie by the pool with the fams…present time after lunch and then dessert at 6 to top it all off. Yep, the perfect christmas in my opinion.

On Christmas day we usually go to my mum’s family’s place and have breakfast, have presents, go to my dad’s parent’s place and spend the rest of the day there by the pool. xD. I tell you what - it’s great. A barbecue, the pool, the sweltering heat. It’s going to be a great Christmas day.

Now that you’ve heard about my traditional Christmas - what’s your’s? Do you spend it making snow angels in the freezing cold…sitting around a giant turkey with mistletoe over the top of every lover or maybe you don’t even celebrate Christmas?

Is it so very selfish of me to be upset that over the coming 3 or so months I will not be able to see Jordan? His grandparents have come over from England to visit until February and their house will be full which inevitably means I get the boot. I know I should be happy for Jordan and his family to be seeing the grams and pops but I can’t help but feel dejected - there are my summer holidays gone with the wind. I won’t be doing much more than having mocktail parties with myself and feeding my teddy bears overcooked biscuits from the oven.

I know I’m being immensely selfish but I just can’t face up at the moment guys. I’m death scared of meeting them - I can barely understand his dad’s accent let alone some fresh ones! :( I’m just glad that I won’t be seeing them that often. I guess that is a plus to not seeing Jordan hehe.

Have you ever been put in that awkward position where someone you really want to see has visitors and you can’t see them, or maybe even you yourself have visitors and they cannot see you?

Above, ladies and gentleman, is a direct quote from Jordan’s school to his mother after he was caught using his phone in the bathroom. She told his mum that she felt that mine and Jordan’s relationship is “too serious” and that he should seek counselling!
Okay, rewind. WTF Bitch?! Where do you get off telling MY LOVER’S MOTHER that her son needs counselling simply because he is in love? Oh thats right - you don’t! Never have I encountered such rudeness and impertinence!
That is just downright ridiculous. I feel as though our feelings are being demeaned because of our age and who cares if we say we love each other a lot? It’s the fucking truth. And I don’t appreciate this woman that does not even know Jordan, going around and saying that he needs counselling simply because he talks to me on the phone so much!

Have you ever had the most outrageous thing said to you that you just feel like screaming?

The Pigsty I Call a Room

So mum has resorted to blackmail. “If you don’t clean your room, April Lea, I will ground you from seeing Jordan!“ Because that is totally, oh so totally, fair. It is my bedroom, I shall be allowed to keep it however I want it to be and if I want it to be messy then let it be messy! Just because through your eyes my room looks like a total mess doesn’t mean that it is. I have the perfect order for everything. I know exactly where my socks are, I know that my pyjamas are under the bed and I know that my shoes are buried under my schoolbooks in the closet. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am going to make my room more of a mess!

More often than not, kids have an organised system in their bedroom of where everything is even if it looks messy from the parents’ point of view. But, just because your parents say your room is messy that doesn’t mean it is. My mum, for one, is a total neat freak and even if I just have a pair of jeans on the floor she will go spastic. And just go crazy and start mauling me. Its funny but also pretty scary because she is being serious when she charges at me with her teeth bared attempting to hit you. Its really really scary.

How do your parents react about your bedroom? Do you have a messily organised system of things or is your room spick and span?

High Schools and Rules

For those of you that read this and are currently still in high school - even those in the workplace - are you allowed to use mobile phones during school hours? This is a controversial issue everywhere and especially in Australian schools. Here in Australia, we aren’t allowed to use our phones during school hours and at my school we are not allowed to be in our uniform and on our phones because the public image will give the school a “bad reputation”.

At my old school - a community college - we were allowed to use our phones at lunch time but certain teachers would sometimes confiscate the phone. I believe this is wrong on so many levels. The teachers here are allowed to use their phones willy nilly but when it comes to the students it is very much a taboo.

Also, the whole reason those of us in younger grades (year 8 and 9) is usually because of their parents and certain safety reasons. What if a bus is late? We can’t call our parents because the teachers have our phones OR because we aren’t allowed to use our phones in school.

Also, it has been known in the workplace for there to be rules against using your mobile phone during your working hours. Why? What is so bad about using these devices? We can’t cheat off them or anything. I find this incredibly stupid of high schools and workplaces to try and enforce this rule as their is no obvious reason for it.

What about your high school / workplace? Do they have strict rules when it comes to mobile phones?
