...kicking up the dust, esky in the boot. Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs, it’s summer time and I am in, my singlet, shorts & thongs!
That is, ladies and gents, a snippet of the Australian jingle bells. Pretty damn shnazzy if I do say so! As you all know - Australia is the oddball of the world and we have a summer Christmas! And, it is brilliant! I hate the snow...a hot scorching day is the best kind of Christmas day. A barbie by the pool with the fams...present time after lunch and then dessert at 6 to top it all off. Yep, the perfect christmas in my opinion.
On Christmas day we usually go to my mum’s family’s place and have breakfast, have presents, go to my dad’s parent’s place and spend the rest of the day there by the pool. xD. I tell you what - it’s great. A barbecue, the pool, the sweltering heat. It’s going to be a great Christmas day.
Now that you’ve heard about my traditional Christmas - what’s your’s? Do you spend it making snow angels in the freezing cold...sitting around a giant turkey with mistletoe over the top of every lover or maybe you don’t even celebrate Christmas?
Is it so very selfish of me to be upset that over the coming 3 or so months I will not be able to see Jordan? His grandparents have come over from England to visit until February and their house will be full which inevitably means I get the boot. I know I should be happy for Jordan and his family to be seeing the grams and pops but I can’t help but feel dejected - there are my summer holidays gone with the wind. I won’t be doing much more than having mocktail parties with myself and feeding my teddy bears overcooked biscuits from the oven.
I know I’m being immensely selfish but I just can’t face up at the moment guys. I’m death scared of meeting them - I can barely understand his dad’s accent let alone some fresh ones! :( I’m just glad that I won’t be seeing them that often. I guess that is a plus to not seeing Jordan hehe.
Have you ever been put in that awkward position where someone you really want to see has visitors and you can’t see them, or maybe even you yourself have visitors and they cannot see you?
